Not only do we have the condemnation from having sinned our whole life, but we also are unable to love God with our wicked hearts. When we are saved by God, we are regenerated.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
This sounds a little different than “accept Jesus into your heart” doesn’t it.
